Committee Reports
Events:
- Meetup: November – Trattoria Marcella (11/18), 6pm-8pm, last of the year. October’s Farmhaus meetup was a success with around 35 people.
- Lindenwood Live: Committee met recently at Tim’s to discuss 2026 lineup. Concert dates determined – 5/24 (Tim not in attendance), 6/28, 8/2, 9/6. Mark Close will be musical act at the last concert. Greg R. has added calendar dates to the website. Tim will start permit application process in January.
- Christmas Lighting Contest: Nothing to report.
- Annual Sponsorship: Adam and Pat to follow up with Emily Rogier.
- LinFest: Planning for 2026. Reducing in scale or combining with Lindenwood Live?
Beautification:
- Park: Last park cleanup, 8 participants, Lindsay and Doug assisted with mulch. Low turnout due to weather conditions. Miscommunication regarding the budgeting process for Park was reported by Emily. Adam will send an email to Bret and Parks to clarify funding for Park projects and potential Friends group. Bret and Parks staff will be invited to the January Board meeting. Friends of Lindenwood Park was discussed as an alternative way to generate fundraising efforts for the Park.
- Community Garden & Wabash Garden: Milt sent the following report:
“We have another meeting with Seeds STL,Community Garden. They want Garden Leaders to give feedback and give us new information for the coming spring season. We distributed many pounds of produce to the Senior Activity Center on Arsenal for noon time meals. Cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, peppers plus bagels from our neighbors,Alex, Baked and Boiled Bagels shop in Soulard. They, Seeds Stl, have some real bargains on plants and trees ,which we shared with gardeners. They gave us 80 bags of potting soil for soil enrichment garden beds. Beds are being cleaned and we have some beds to be repaired when the weather is warmer. As always we have new gardeners on waiting list. Still need someone(s) or group to take over Wabash/I 44 project. We will give them guidance.”
- Green Team: Lack of participation in events. Looking into reducing the number of events from 4 to 2 (mid-May and mid-September). Will coordinate scheduling around Park events. Tim noted safety concerns with removal of trash bags as MDOT has stopped servicing route.
Communications:
- Greg R. sent the following report:
“I’ve been working with Mike Meyer at Hot Lava Media to add Square to process credit/debit card transactions for the membership signup and renewals. This was completed about a week ago and all seems to be working great and the processing fees are less than PayPal. We also had some issues with the reminder emails that go out to members that are about to expire. We never did find out what happened but it worked itself out on it’s own and all seems to be working well again. I got a jump on the events calendar on the website and I’ve added all events that have confirmed dates. It was very helpful that we had our events committee meeting early.”
Membership:
Lisa Reported:
- 44 Welcome packs for August, September, and October new residents.
- 301 Current members (311 in October).
- 9 House Tour participants got LPNA annual memberships.
- Committee not pursuing door hangers due to low return on value. Would like to print a promotional flyer to add to welcome packs to show where funds are invested into the neighborhood.
A motion made by Sara Davis, seconded by Emily Yale, and passed by the Board to print flyers for up to $500.
Safety:
- Safety Committee is meeting at Buder Library to discuss next steps in the pedestrian safety initiative.
Block Captains:
- Next year’s dates for meetings are set on the calendar. Active list of block captains needs to be purged and brought up-to-date.
Neighborhood Alliance:
- No activity to report.
Century Homes:
- Fall order of plaques to be delivered by Committee members in December. Still evaluating vendor options, considering the pricing hikes.
Treasurer’s Report:
- To be provided following the meeting.
Old Business
- No old business discussed.
New Business
- Lindenwood Park Place membership – to be considered for hosting meetings and other gatherings. Lisa will look into pricing for LPNA.
- Lisa would like to purchase a self-inking return address stamper for mailing purposes. Emily made motion, Greg Todd seconded, Board approved.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:46am.
Respectfully submitted,
Jenna Stout
