  • Guest speakers: new Chief of Police/Capt. Mueller – Pat has reached out but not heard back from either person.
  • LASM & Machacek Library.
  • LPNA Business.
  • Elected Officials.

2023 Calendar: Incorrect info was sent in for the directory, but the correct info will be on the website.

New Board Members:

  • John Harris has agreed to be a Board Member.
  • Wendy Barnes will join the Board in May.
  • Doug will be resigning from the Board after 25-30 years. He commented on how the Board has grown over the years and how effective the Association has become.

Intro – Brian Kolde, new NIS:

  • Been an NIS since 1994.
  • Now working for Lindenwood Park, Clifton Heights, Dogtown, Ellendale, Cheltenheim, Hi-Pointe, and Clayton/Tamm.
  • Greg will update the website with Brian’s contact details and forward all NIS related website queries to him.

Alderman’s Report

  • Money and approval made available for speed humps, sidewalks, trees, dumpsters etc. Work should start soon.
  • McCausland, across from school: a dog walker was bitten by a stray dog. Don’t have many calls registered with CSB for this property.  There is a concern that calls are not being recorded or not recorded to the correct address.  Call evaluators may have told callers to call Crimestoppers. Joe will look into possible overcrowding at the building.
  • Wyoming: vacant. Previously was a hoarder.
  • 39xx Oleatha: Scrapper. Owner was fined and has 30 days to clean it up. If there’s no acceptable change, he can be fined $3,500 per day until it’s been cleaned up.
  • Lansdowne: RV was towed, and the residents have moved.

Committee Reports

Events:

A meeting of the Event’s Committee was held to discuss events for the year:

  • Lindenwood Live: Tim is working on confirming bands: May – Mark Kloss ($1,200), June – Out By 9, August – Fanfare, September – TBD. Greg will start working on booking the food trucks. Tim is in the process of working on the permit application.
  • Meetup: February’s Meetup will take place at the Afghan Kabob House on Feb 28th from 6-8pm. This is a “no alcohol” establishment.
  • Flea Market: This is confirmed for May 20th at Watson Terrace Christian Church at the same time as their BBQ. They will use 30% of their space for the BBQ. We can use their tables and chairs. Lisa will arrange to meet Rev. King to confirm the space we can use and how many tables are at our disposal.
  • House Tour: This will occur on September 17th. Adam is still looking for volunteers.
  • Trivia: This will occur on July 29th.

Beautification:

  • Park: Park cleanup is scheduled for May 20th. Aaron will help by inviting groups to assist us. Doug has been helping to clean up and prepare the corner bed at Prather/Pernod. Aaron will buy plants for that corner. Emily asked for more trash cans; we received 2. Will ask for one by the park benches on Pernod and Prather.
  • Building: The City is looking at a motion sensor light in the building. The building project still needs to be sent out for a bid (takes 2 months).
  • Community Garden: 1 bed available. Lisa to advertise for it on social media. Collected 4 x 75lb bales of dirt. Garlic is still growing.  Have some yard work to do, mulching and repair of beds.  33 beds in total. Milt has seeds for the gardeners.
  • Wabash Garden: Been picking up trash along the highway.
  • Green Team: Highway cleanup is scheduled for April 16th. Will prep for an alternate date in case of rain – possibly April 22nd.  Getting quotes for a new grass cutting company to help with cutting the triangle area.

Communications

  • Greg Todd volunteered to help with the website. He has tested the website and believes he can get it running faster and has experience with this work. Greg R will investigate new host and Greg T will migrate it over.
  • LPNA Zoom account has been cancelled.
  • PayPal no longer has or supports “PayPal Here”. Greg will order their new device “Zettle” that we can use for payments at events.

Membership:

  • Brian will provide Lisa with some handouts to go into the welcome packs. Lisa will prepare the packs and invite block captains to help deliver them. These will be for Nov, Dec and January.
  • Currently have 237 members as at 2/18/2023 and 39 renewals. Lisa has promoted membership on social media and will do so again before the neighborhood meeting.

Safety:

  • Adam asked for approval to purchase more clubs. A motion was granted to allow Adam to ALWAYS be able to buy clubs as needed and submit invoices to Carol for payment. Motion made by Carol and 2nd by Emily.

Block Captain’s:

  • Laurie held a successful meeting with 12-15 attendees. Meetings will be held at Timothy Lutheran until space opens up at Lindenwood Park Place. Brian Kolde was in attendance and introduced himself.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • $812 for dues on the report. This is an odd amount, but it is due to PayPal fees. Carol will stop payment on check issued to Cincinnati Ins. that seems to have been lost.  Will reissue check for $1,100 to them.  Will be relooking at insurance at some time.  Will transfer insurance payment to the debit card.

Old Business

  • 4th Ward Candidate forum: The forum will be held on March 22nd at either Mason school or Epiphany. It will be after the primary elections with 2 candidates. Hosted by the neighborhoods of the 4th Need volunteers.

New Business

  • Joe’s election meeting at Trattoria Marcella on Wednesday Feb 22nd from 5-7pm.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11.43am.

Respectfully submitted,

Lisa Roggeman
