It’s time to mark your calendar for October’s Meetup. October was “People’s Choice”, and the winning restaurant was The Piccadilly at Manhattan. Meetup will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 6-8pm.
The Piccadilly at Manhattan restaurant is located in the Ellendale neighborhood, but still within the 4th Ward. Ellendale is a great neighbor, and we are delighted to include them in our Meetups. The location is on the corner of Piccadilly and Manhattan Rd’s. They have been in business for many years and if you haven’t tried their chicken pot pie, you need to! Meetups are just happy hours. We meet once a month at a different restaurant or bar local to our neighborhood. They were started to support our local foodie establishments on days when attendance was typically low – hence, Tuesday’s. Pre Covid, we were averaging 40+ people, but post Covid the numbers have dropped – understandably. This is all the more reason to support our local restaurants. If you’re not comfortable attending Meetup’s, please consider getting takeout or delivery from our monthly choices to support them. We are in our 12th year of hosting Meetups!
There is no agenda at a Meetup. Just show up, order some food or a drink, stay as long as you like and take this opportunity to meet some new people. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors and relax at your favorite restaurant or a restaurant you’ve never been to before, but wanted to try out. We manage to get through most of the restaurants in our neighborhood.
