Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
July 12, 2017
Attendance: Tim Nowell, Joe Vaccaro, Shawn McLain, Carol Hofer, Pat Acquisto, Lisa Roggeman, Greg Roggeman, Janet Desnoyer, Milton Murry, Doug Dick, Jessica Sullivan, Nan Vortriede
The May, 2017 minutes were approved.
Janet will not be in attendance at the August Board meeting so Doug will lead the meeting.
Janet reported on the need for new heavier sign holders. She will check on prices for 50 – 100.
General Membership Meeting – Possible speakers: Lyda Krewson or Dr. King form Watson Rd. Vet.
Businesses – Blueprint Coffee, 4206 Watson (old Reliable Brake) wants tax abatement will open without it. Conditional Use letter will be sent with conditions concerning lights, hours, fence, beautification and deliveries. F& B Eatery wants a liquor license. Board needs more info to make a decision whether to support. St. Louis Fitness exercising in the right of way in violation of their conditional use.
Safety – It was suggested that a drug awareness pamphlet should be available at Gen. Mem. meeting. The neighborhood needs clarification on non-emergency and 911 reporting.
Ivanhoe Business District – Survey idea tabled until we get more info from Daniel Schmidt.
Membership – Gift certificate promotion isn’t working without the add-on for the website. It will be postponed until website is ready.
Communications – Greg will get the Communications Committee together after website is fixed. The SSL Cert. now has a dedicated IP address. Greg provided prices of IP services.
Community Garden – Milt is trying to get a lease renewal from St. Michael’s. The pollen study with SLU is going well. Tulips will not be planted on Wabash this year. An effort needs to be made to get Milt & Sharon help with gardens.
Events – Tweetup –- Trattoria Marcella in July, Babe’s/Vinnie’s in August
Concerts – Bathrooms have been backing up so Johnny on the Spots will be provided.
Lawn & Garden Contest winners will be announced at Gen Mem. meeting.
Trivia Night – 12 tables so far, everything on schedule and covered.
Problem Properties – 7081 Pernod : 8 or 9 calls in one week for unsupervised children.
6938 Oleatha: abandoned cars in back. 6964-66 Pernod : vacant and owned by out of towners. Letter is being sent to maintain property.
Treasurer Report – Financial Stmts. were passed out, net income for 2nd. Quarter – ($1,463.24), total Chkg./Svgs. – $32,111.27
Janet announced that she is moving to Kansas City at the end of the year.
