Aldermanic Report (Dan attended for Bret)

Dan reported Bret is aware of Recycling Bins placed in front of Lindenwood Lofts.

He provided updates on Board Bills 44 and 45, connected to the registration and notification process for Neighborhood Associations. Both passed. Bret voted against both but will work to get neighborhood associations in Ward 4 to satisfy criteria per the bills. Pat noted she would like to see a minimum amount of time a bill needs to stay in committee before going before the Board to allow for neighborhood input.

Board Bill 60 – concerns Accessory Dwelling Units, also known as Granny Suites. There was concern these were being used for short term rentals. This Bill eliminates that usage.

Board Bill 46 – concerns the distribution of Hemp products and/or THC outside the dispensary environment.

Dan mentioned the ongoing issue in the Sheriff’s Department. If removed from office, the interim Sheriff would be picked by the Board of Aldermen.

Emily asked Bret to provide an update on park requests in the budget at the next meeting. The Board noted we moved to Tuesday nights to accommodate Bret and hoped he would be in attendance at future Tuesday night meetings.

NIS Report

Karen reported on the state of recycling in the neighborhood. While rollout carts are not affected, alley dumpsters continue to be an issue. Recycling dumpsters will no longer be picked up as recycling. The centralization of the recycling bins was not accompanied by a press release. A plan for better communication and relocation of bins is in the works.

Karen (still acting director of NIS) provided an update on problem properties:

  • 66xx Oleatha – Health department has issued cease and desist – will be cleared out if persists
