Snow, ice and bitter cold temperatures forced the cancellation of school on eight separate days during the 2013/2014 school year for Saint Louis Public School students. After all calendar adjustments are made, the last day of school for SLPS will now be Friday, May 30 instead of Friday, May 23 as originally scheduled.
The District previously made up two of the cancelled days on February 14 and March 14. Students will make up one of the remaining days on Monday, May 19, which was originally on the schedule as a record keeping day for staff and no school for students. Additional make-up days are Tuesday, May 27 – Friday, May 30. The District will only need to make up seven of the total eight snow days due to a built in snow day on the original calendar.
The Special Administrative Board approved the calendar adjustment at its April 10 meeting.
The last day of work for District 10-month and 10.5-month employees during the 2013/2014 school year will be Monday, June 2. District 11-month employees will work through Friday, June 6.
