23rd Ward Alderman Joe Vaccaro has scheduled a meeting to share information and gain your input to several issues affecting not just our neighborhood but the entire city. You may be familiar with two new business models for hotel accommodations. They are called Vacation Rental By Owner (VRBOs) and Airbnb. Both models allow homeowners to either rent out their entire home (VRBO) or part of their home (Airbnb) to visitors looking for lodging during a St. Louis stay. The City does not currently require a license for these businesses to operate nor are they required to pay city sales tax. Several City Officials will be present at the meeting to share information, answer questions and gather your input regarding regulation of these businesses.
Several bills are being introduced in the Board of Alderman this September which will change zoning requirements for home based businesses. The bills could affect the amount of input a resident has regarding whether a home based business can operate in a residential area. Information will be shared about these bills and your input regarding them will also be asked.
The meeting will be held:
July 21
7pm – 8pm
Timothy Lutheran Church Gym
Corner of Fyler and Ivanhoe
Parking is available in a fenced lot across the street from the church which can be entered from Ivanhoe.
