Welcome to our new Board Members: Sara Davis and Greg Todd.
A motion was made to approve the Minutes from October 4th, 2023, by Tim and seconded by Emily.
Neighborhood Meeting: to be held at Watson Terrace Christian Church, December 4th at 7.30pm
- Guest speakers confirmed: Waubonsie Ridge Beef, Honeymoon Tattoo, Personal Space Fitness.
- LPNA Business.
- LASM & Machacek.
- Elected Officials.
- Refreshments – Board members to bring cookies. Adam will take care of water (pitcher) and soda.
Aldermanic Report:
- Incumbered & Unincumbered Funds: No movement, still debating the issues. Hoping for some consensus before the winter break.
- BB33/34 – Short term rental regulations. The mayor has signed it into legislation. Hoping to have it working in 6 months but have a year to perfect it. Permits and Business License will be needed in order to operate.
- BB126 – Homeless Bill of Rights. Dead int eh water – too weak. Possibly being withdrawn by the sponsor.
- BB60 – Liquor Bill: Plat & Petition CAN be done but NOT required. The process is to apply for a 90-day permit at Excise, attend conditional use hearing, can renew it after 90 days, attend public hearing. If successful, a conditional use permit can be issued. Owners will need to present all their books to show they’ve followed all the requirements.
- BB93 – Detention Center Oversight – working on wording.
- RAMS Money: Possibilities are for infrastructure updates, water issues, investments and hiring more City workforce (better wages).
- Problem Properties: 69xx Oleatha – junked back yard. 4 warrants for his arrest. Police won’t go to his property to arrest him. Brian has suggested getting the captain involved. Elliot Davis would get involved but wants to speak to the neighbors who are afraid as the owner is known to be vengeful. 69xx Pernod – random illegal dumping. Sidewalk is badly broken and a hazard – used by a disabled child and blind persons.

Communications
- Greg will set up a time to meet with Wendy and Greg T regarding the website and going forward to make improvements and make it easier for people to find info and make sign-up more user-friendly. Contact Greg R if you want to be included in this committee.
Membership:
- 27 Welcome packs are nearly ready to be distributed to new residents for August, September and October.
- Currently have 248 paid-up members – down from 260 last month. Reminder letters were mailed to 26 members who lapsed in October. The decrease is due to a glitch with the system and not all members who were lapsing were sent reminder emails. Greg called Darran and he fixed it. This was something to do with the transfer to the new host. Lisa has promoted membership on social media – so far only 1 person responded.
Safety:
- Adam joined Facebook purely to post the weekly crime report from Gus. A meeting will be scheduled in December to discuss updates to the safety section of the website.
Century Homes:
- Sales have been completed for the year. 7 new plaques will be ordered. The address list may be out of date. Plaques will not be delivered to the owners but there will be a designated location for pick up. Lisa will send Jenna the house sale lists every quarter.
