Committee Reports

Events:

  • Meetup: November’s Meetup will be the final one for the year and will be held at Trattoria Marcella on Tuesday, November 15th from 6-8pm.
  • House Tour: Louis Hills have invited Adam to attend their house tour meeting on Monday Nov 14. Pat to email Adam details. Tentatively scheduling the Lindenwood Park house tour for the first Saturday in October.

Beautification:

  • Park: Playground is done and being utilized. No new swings. Emily will check to ensure new mulch was spread. Under the swings.
  • Building: Status of the building renovation is for new windows with lower metal panels, sofit and fascia, patching and caulking, painting, ceiling replacement, lights, power washing of building and surrounding area. We need a light switch in the office building by the door – currently have to turn the light on from the electrical box in the garage. Estimate for renovation is $150k.  This does not include the bathrooms. We have had no feedback regarding the historical experts supposedly consulted about the renovations. We would like to see a report.
  • Community Garden: See year-end report submitted by Milton and Sharon. Hoses have been disconnected and drained. Filled the 3rd bin with compost. Still getting veggies. Milt will work on repairing some beds before the new growing season. Rye grass is available for those who want it.
  • Wabash Garden: New bird houses and spread some compost. Picked up trash along the highway side.
  • Green Team: 8 attendees at the last pickup. 12 bags of trash were collected and are awaiting pickup by MODOT. Lots of car parts in this collection.

Communications

  • Had a few website problems with membership login. Darren contacted Member Press for a fix. Also took care of the shop helping Wendy to get the t-shirts loaded.  Helping Lisa with membership by adding manual members with a generic password – this is ongoing.  There was a major update to the server.

Membership:

  • We have 214 members in total. Working on sending a letter to all lapsed members and will do this on a monthly basis. This will include all members who don’t have email addresses.
  • Welcome packs: Lisa has emailed Laurie Klein several times to ask for Block Captain help with delivering welcome packs but had no response. Delivered 98 packs for houses sold in May, June and July.  Working on preparing packs for August, September and October and will need help delivering them (51 packs).

Safety:

  • Clubs are selling and we are down to 2 left. Adam will order 2 boxes of 6 each. #9PMRoutine signs to be distributed again. Will ask Wendy if we’re able to find out how may people have visited the QR code.

Century Homes:

  • Now in the holiday cycle and have sold 8 plaques. We need 10 in order to place an order.  Have emailed people who previously expressed an interest in buying one.  We have historic houses in the neighborhood who may be interested in the house tour with plaques. Will push sales again in spring.  Sold almost 70 in total.

Block Captain’s:

  • Next meeting is in January 2023. Pat will try to get hold of Laurie to give a report at the neighborhood meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • LinFest was a big fundraiser. The ending balance for October was $11,816.14. As of September 30th, 2022, we had a cash balance of $7,927.02 in the general account. Carol to organize a check for Adam to be made out to 5 Star for $180.

Old Business

  • Painting at I-44 exit intersection – waiting for the city to respond.
  • Board Candidates: Contacted Aaron Dohogne but he is not ready to commit yet. Will contact John Harris.
  • Wabash Development: Walt Winters has been asked to liaise with the owners (vacant plot between Oleatha & Pernod).

New Business

  • New logo: Motion to approve and adopt the new logo (tree with street names as trunk and branches) made by Adam and seconded by Carol. Motion approved.
  • Circle K is generating more traffic. An RV drove over the sidewalk and broke it.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8.03pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Lisa Roggeman
