Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
January 10, 2018
Attendance: Milton Murry, Shawn McLain, Daniel Schmidt, Lisa Roggeman, Pat Acquisto
The November, 2017 minutes were not provided.
General Membership Meeting – Speakers – Joe is asking the new Chief of Police. Pat will check to see if owners of Blueprint Coffee are close enough to opening to come and speak.
Committees – Board discussed the importance of strong committees. It was tentatively decided that the needed committees are: Events, Membership, Communications, Block Captains, Streets & Property and Safety. Every committee should contain at least one Board member (preferably chair) who can be a liaison to the Board. Committees should meet is some form at least once every two months.
Communications – Jay Draper is not responding to Pat about the membership page of the website so Greg will call Hot Lava.
Community Gardens – Nutrients were added to the soil at Smiley garden . Planting, weeding and watering help needed on Wabash starting in April. Will advertise on Facebook and website for helpers if even for an hour.
Tweet Up – Jan. 23 at Biggie’s.
Streets & Property – 6977 Pernod (blue tarp house) is up for auction.
6964 & 6966 Pernod Sean Rapp looking at possibility of suing owners under nuisance law.
Committee will give Christy a list of problem properties including 6045 Juniata, 3818 McCausland, 7122 Tholozan, 7009 Tholozan.
Block Captains – Report submitted by Liz Hatfield: two new block captains; Marti Gurley and Katie Dimza. Vince Stehlin discussed crime in the neighborhood at the last meeting. A bowling party is being planned for Feb. 20th.
