LinFest 2018

Are you new to our neighborhood or maybe you’re not familiar with LinFest?  It’s the “most wonderful time of the year”!

LinFest is our Fall Festival that is organized by the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood Association (LPNA). It is held every other year on even-numbered years and is always on the first Saturday in October. This year it will be held on October 6th from 11am – 4pm in Lindenwood Park. This is a major fundraiser for us and together with sponsorship and vendor booth payments, this is one of the things your annual association fees of $15, helps pay for! I’ve lost count how many LinFest’s we’ve had but I think this might be our 6th!

LinFest started out as the WOW Fest (What’s on Watson) and showcased businesses on Watson Rd. Then we moved it from the parking lot at Southwest Baptist to the Park and it has grown in leaps and bounds every year since then.

We have some wonderful businesses and restaurants in our neighborhood that loyally support us and we in turn, do as much as we can to promote them.  This year will be no different.  We will have performances by Gateway Science Academy’s (GSA) choir, band and orchestra.  Please come and support them! We have secured The Off Topic band as our featured band and they will be playing from noon – 4pm. There will be lots of fun things for the kids: strolling balloon artists, the hugely popular Bubble Bus, a great bounce house and a big slide.  Local churches and Machacek Library will provide fun things for the kids too.  We will, once again, be having a bike parade for the kids.  Bring your bikes to the park, go to the bike parade area and decorate your bikes and join in the parade through the park.  Maybe there will be some prizes and a surprise guest…!  We will have raffle baskets with great items at the LPNA table.

For the first time we will be having an Artisan Vendor section.  This will be a group of people who have small businesses who’d like to showcase and sell the items they make.  One comment we heard from previous LinFest’s was that people wanted more arts and crafts booths. People asked, and we listened.  We will be accommodating a maximum of 15-17 Artisan Vendors.

As always, we will have fantastic support from our local eating and drinking establishments, so please be sure to support them and we’ll have picnic tables available. We are fortunate to have some of the best restaurants in St. Louis located right here in our neighborhood!  We will not be entertaining any food trucks at LinFest as this is an opportunity for our local restaurants to participate.

Needy Paws Rescue will have adoptable dogs available so come and check them out and help find them a “fur”ever home!  We also hope to have a fun doggie walk – all proceeds will benefit Needy Paws, so bring your well-behaved dog/s on leash, sign up at the Needy Paws table and your doggies will have a blast!

Events like these don’t organize themselves and it takes a lot of volunteer time and manpower to put it together and make it work.  Our volunteers are not paid to help.  They do it out of the love for our neighborhood and we truly appreciate the time they give up to help us.

If you would like to be a vendor at LinFest, we’d love to have you participate. We also have various levels of sponsorship available – what better way to promote or introduce your business to a great neighborhood than to have it spotlighted at LinFest.  If you’d like to be a sponsor or a vendor, please email [email protected] or call Lisa at 314 973-3228 for application forms.  If you’re unable to participate or sponsor but would like to donate a gift certificate or any items, we will be delighted to include that in a raffle basket too.  Please help us to offer our neighborhood an awesome community event.
