The Lindenwood Park Neighborhood Association participates in the Missouri Department of Transportation “Adopt a Highway” program, as we endeavor to keep Missouri Highways—and specifically our neighborhood—clean of litter and trash. We are responsible for the exit at Jamieson and Highway 44, and the ½ mile preceding the exit, on the south side of the interstate. The team has been holding quarterly cleanups since the spring of 2008.
MODOT supplies trash bags and orange safety vests for this ongoing project. They will also pick up the bags of trash once collected. Participants need to bring gloves, tools, and a little energy.
We hold four pickup days throughout the year and report the number of participants and bags of trash and debris collected, which goes into the statewide database of trash collected throughout the state of Missouri. As active participants in the program, there is a sign marking the 44/Jamieson exit as the Lindenwood Park Green Team cleanup area.
There are four scheduled pickup events for the year 2021.
All events are weather permitting and take place at 9:00 a.m. on the following Saturdays:
