LPNA Board Meeting Minutes – 2/15/2020

Lindenwood Park Neighborhood Association

Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

February 15, 2020 – 9.30am – 11.30pm, Machacek Library

Present: Pat Acquisto, Lisa Roggeman, Greg Roggeman, Milton Murry, Lindsay Alsop, Carol Hofer, Mary Ann Rogers, Tim Nowell, Doug Dick, Adam Rustige, Emily Rogier, Lance Martin (Hucks)

Apologies: Emily Yale

Absent: Gabe Gassner

Lance Martin from Hucks attended the Board meeting to address the recent armed Robbery at Hucks on Watson Rd.  Hucks does not currently have an occupancy permit and has a conditional use permit to operate during certain hours.  They have been operating for 24 hours for approximately 7 years.  Lance admitted he did not know there were any conditions applied to Hucks and was not aware that they did not have an occupancy permit.  He has reached out to Joe Vaccaro and is attempting to rectify this immediately and work with the neighborhood association.  He would like Hucks to remain open for business for 24 hours

Since the robbery, Hucks has re-done the lighting, offered trauma counseling to all staff and will be installing a 20-camera system linked to their cash registers.  There should never be more than $175 on hand.  Pat will contact the City to enquire why they are not checking occupancy permits and with Vince as to how many calls for service were logged.

A unanimous agreement was made to allow Hucks to remain open 24 hours on condition that they install lighting and the 20-camera system and have procedures in writing that staff will follow.

Strategic Plan:  Goal 3 was completed. We will start at Goal 1 at the next Saturday Board Meeting.

The Minutes from January 15, 2020 were approved. Motion made by Lindsay, seconded by Emily R.
